LocalPix

A free, offline image converter for macOS and Windows. Your images never leave your computer.

Four claims you can verify.

It's local.

Your images never leave your computer. No upload, no account, no telemetry — disconnect from the internet and it still works.

It's free and open source.

Personal or commercial work, no subscriptions, no watermarks. The source is on GitHub; read it, fork it, audit it.

It's fast.

Native image processing via libvips. Typical conversions are done in milliseconds; batches scale linearly.

It supports what you have.

Reads HEIC from iPhone photos, Photoshop PSD, SVG and seven others. Writes nine output formats including modern AVIF and JPEG XL.

LocalPix strips EXIF, GPS coordinates and other metadata from converted images by default. It is the safe choice if you are sharing photos publicly or want to remove location data from iPhone photos before posting them. Turn it off if you're archiving personal originals, or pair it with Preserve color profile if you need accurate colors but still want personal data scrubbed.
